Hi,
I agree with you that the things "Jobcenter" demand of you can be distracting in your job search. Jobsearch in itself can be very time consuming and it requires lot of focus.
However, by asking you to find a internship, the Jobcenter gives you an opportunity for voluntary to find an internship on your own that you will like and could be interesting for you.
If you dont find it your self then the Jobcenter has the right to (and will at some point) send you to some internship/activation offer that you must accept to keep your unemployment benefits.
It is mandatory if you want to keep your unemployment benefit ("Dagpenge"), that you accept job offers, internship and activation offers that the Jobcenter offers you.
If you reject then you will in first place get a 3-week quarantine with benefits, and if you reject another offer within 12 months the you can completely loose your right to receive benefits.
Best regards,
Anders, www.a-kasser.dk
