Non EU from Russia on the family reunification

Hello, hope you can help me :)

I am from Russia. I have been in Denmark in August 2020 for four years based on family reunification (married to Dane).

A year ago I became a member of A-kasse. I will graduate my Master (Roskilde university) in January 2021.

I was wondering, the rules keep changing, however would I be able to apply for dagpenge from my A-kasse when
I graduate in Janury 2021 or not? By January 2021 I will have residency in Denmark for 4 years and 5 months.

Thank you!
Kind regards,

you will only be able to apply for/get dagpenge if you have the right to recide and work full time in Denmark. And you must be able to take any kind of job with one day notice.

We do not guide about residence/work permit, but will recommend you to contact SIRI in case you are in doubt whether you have the right to stay and work full time in Denmark.

However as far as we know the family reunification scheme gives you right to stay and work full time in Denmark.

And if you complete an education and meet the requirments for graduates, then you should be able to get dagpenge after the graduate rule. And because you have been member for at least 1 year when graduating, you can get dagpenge from day 1 after graduation. You will not get the 1 month waiting period.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Anders Weber,

Thank you Anders for quick answer,

I know about it, however what about requirement of staying minimum 6-7 years?

Because by the time I ll graduate and need a kasse, I ll be in Denmark only 4 years and 5 months.
the residence requirement (saying that non-EU citizens must stay in Denmark 7 years before the can get dagpenge) was totally removed from 1st february 2020. So the residence requirement was only into force from January 1, 2019 to 1st February 2020.
In that period we have changed Government in Denmark, and the new government decided to remove the residence requirement.
Hi! Nice!

Thanks a lot for quick answer! :)
