Question

I'm a EU citizen which just moved to Denmark with a 1 year contract in a company.

My contract runs from 1 December 2019 to 30 November 2020. My gross salary will be around 30000 DKK per month.

If I sign up for A-kasse today 2nd December 2019, will I be able to get unemployment benefits on 2nd December 2020, or since I haven't been member of a-kasse during the whole year of employment (just 1 day difference) I won't be able to get paid?

Hi,

yes with the salary you have and with one year membership you will be eligible for unemployment benefits ("dagpenge") on the 2. of december 2020, if you apply for membership today.

The 1 day difference is not relevant. The only relevant is if you on the day you apply for dagpenge (2nd December 2020), meets all the requirements.
