Hello,
I have the following concern, which I hope you can clarify for me.
Despite being part of an EU-country, the calculation method of working years/periods accrued towards a retirement pension seems to differ from country to country.
While in Denmark, it is not compulsory to belong to an
A-KASSE, in other EU-countries, it is, and thus, a Social Security contribution is automatically withdrawn from your salary when you are working. In my country, for instance, our Social Security system covers both, unemployment benefit and also accrues the working years towards your retirement/disability pension. As far as I understand, though, A-kasse in Denmark only covers unemployment periods –it does not count for your retirement pension. Is this correct?
If so, my question is how will my worked/and tax contributed years in Denmark (with and without
A-KASSE assurance) be calculated for a pension in my country? What information (lived years in Dk/full-time jobs/ consultant jobs/unemployment periods) will be included in the PD U1 document? –A document that I have already requested, but does not seem easy to obtain. And my country requests the full information from me, before they contact the authorities in Denmark…
Thank you.
