Hi,
I am a recent graduate and I am currently receiving supplementary unemployment benefits as I have continued with my part-time student job following graduation while looking for full-time employment. However, it looks like my part-time job will be coming to an end as it is related to a project that is now completed.
If my part-time job does indeed end, I will consider moving back to the UK to look for work there and as I am covered by the Brexit severance agreement I will be entitled to a maximum of 3-months of cash benefits while I look for work in the UK.
I understand that in order to receive cash benefits in another country you first need to be registered as unemployed on Jobnet for 4-weeks before leaving Denmark and you need to be wholly unemployed (rather than partially or intermittently).
Question:
Does the time that I have been partially unemployed and receiving supplementary unemployment benefits contribute towards the 4-weeks period before I can move to the UK or will I need to wait for an additional 4-weeks of ‘full unemployment’ after the end of my part-time job? Many thanks,
Rob

you have to be registered as wholly unemployed for 4 weeks. If you are a citizen of the country you want to travel to, however, only 1 week applies.
So, if you are a british citizen and want to search for job in UK, you only need to be registered 1 week as wholly unemployed before leaving Denmark.
Hope it helps.

If as I said my part-time job does come to an end, will I have any problems in moving from a partially unemployed person to a wholly unemployed person? Would there be any quarantine period or would I need to be able to meet any earning requirements (which would not be possible for me as I only graduated in August of this year)?
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Rob
