Register as unemployed on jobnet.dk

This guide is for unemployed who are not already registered as user on Jobnet.dk. If you have a user account you can log in and jump to step 3 (see below) for registering as unemployed.

Sign up as a user on jobnet.dk with MitID.

You can use Jobnet.dk to find a job, but if you want to use Jobnet.dk's other functions, you must sign up as a user.
You need MitID to sign up as a user.

How to register as new user

Follow the link above
Click on "Register as user with MitID" (OPRET MIG MED MitID)
Accept the terms of use for Jobnet
Click on "Register as user" (OPRET MIG)

Once you are registered as a user, you can immediately register as unemployed.

If you do not have MitID

If you do not have MitID and have to register as unemployed, it is important that you make the registration today. In order to be entitled to unemployment benefits you must show up in person at your local job center and register as unemployed.

If your first day of unemployment is today and the job center has closed, you must show up at the job center on the next office day. In order to be entitled to benefits from the first day of unemployment, it is important that you can document that you have tried to register digitally via Jobnet. You can do this by submitting a form to Jobnet Support - see more information and a link to the web form.

1. On the homepage of jobnet.dk, click on "OPRET MIG MED MitID" under "Ny bruger?".

2. If you are in need of help you can click on "Kontakt supporten" and get in contact with the support staff.

3. You can read more about what happens to your data by clicking on "Politik om persondata". The privacy policy describes what happens to your data (in Danish).

4. If you click on "OPRET MIG" you will be registered on Jobnet and you will see your front page of Jobnet.

5. If you regret and don't want to continue you can sign off by clicking on the blue button "AFBRYD OG LOG AF MitID".

After you have signed up (previous step) or have logged in as an existing user you will see your personal front page on Jobnet.

1. On the top you will see a welcome message. If you are a new user there will be a link to other guides on how to use Jobnet. Click on “vejledninger” to go to further guides for Jobnet (in Danish). If you are an existing user it just says "Welcome your name".

2. You can register as unemployed, by clicking on the "MELD DIG LEDIG" ("Register as unemployed") button.

On the right side of your homepage you can see:

  • 4. Contact information for your locale job center and the Jobnet support. If you are a member of a Danish unemployment fund (A-Kasse), you can find information about who your "A Kasse" is, as well as a link to their website.

5. Under the menu "JOBSØGNING" (Job search), you will find the menu items related to job search — such as "Find job", "Joblog" and "CV-oplysninger" (CV-information).
If you have registered as unemployed and applied for unemployment benefits ("dagpenge"), you must make a CV on Jobnet. You will then see status on your CV.

6. Under the "PLANER OG AFTALER" (Plans and appointments) menu, you will find menu items related to your appointments and tools to report sick/recovery. The tools you will have access to depends on your registration.
If you have registered as unemployed and applied for unemployment benefits you will also see a menu point called "Min Plan" (My plan). Here you can see agreemenets made between you and your job consultant at the Job center.

7. Clicking on your name will take you to the "User profile" menu page. Here, you can sign up for sms or email-service.

1. If you are member of an A-kasse, you will have the option here to choose to register for "Dagpenge" (Unemployment benefits from A-kasse).
Make sure that the option "Jeg søger om dagpenge" ("I am applying for unemployment benefit") is selected.

2. Click on "Næste" ("Next").

1. Here you will have to answer whether you are fully unemployed ("Jeg er fuldt ledig") or partly unemployed ("Jeg er delvist ledig").
If you are partly unemployed you may have the option to get "supplementary benefits" ("Supplerende dagpenge").

2. Click on "Næste" ("Next").

1. Here you have to confirm what you have answered about your registration as unemployed.

In this example the unemployed person have registered that he/she apply for unemployment benefits ("Søger om dagpenge"), and that he/she is fully unemployed ("Er fuldt ledig").

2. Click on "Gem" ("Save") if you agree or cancel ("Fortryd").

After having followed the above mentioned steps, you will get a confimation message from Jobnet.dk, similar to this:

Du har nu tilmeldt dig som jobsøgende dagpengemodtager (You have now registered as a job-seeking unemployment benefit recipient).

Du søger om udbetaling af dagpenge i din a-kasse, som kan vejlede dig nærmere (You are applying for dagpenge from your A-kasse, who can guide you further).

Det er en betingelse for ret til dagpenge, at du er tilmeldt jobcentret (It is a condition for the right to dagpenge that you are registered with the job center).

Det er også en betingelse for ret til dagpenge, at du har et søgbart CV på Jobnet.dk, og at a-kassen har godkendt CV'et inden 2 uger fra tilmeldingen, Har du udfyldt dit CV med de krævede oplysninger, er det blevet gjort søgbart for arbejdsgivere, jobcentre og din a-kasse. Du kan få adgang til dit CV på Jobnet, fx når du skal ajourføre det.

After having registered as unemployed at Jobnet, as described in step 1-7, you have done whats legally nessasary to apply for unemployment benefits.
However you also need to fill out a form on your A-kasse's website, about why you have becomed unemployed and you must answer some questions from the A-kasse.

The A-kasse will then deside if you meet all requirements for getting benefits ("dagpenge") and if you have quitted your job yourself the A-kasse will give you a quarantine for 3 weeks where you can not receive dagpenge.

Residence CardIf you are a non-EU citizen you must have a residence Card which allows you to take any job with one day notice. This is because you must be available for the labor market for being eligible for unemployment benefits ("dagpenge").
Membership fee and taxYou will automatically get a deduction in your tax for your fee to the A-kasse and trade union. There is no ceiling on the amount you can get a deduction for when it comes to contributions to A-kasse, whereas you can get a maximum deduction of DKK 7,000 for a trade union.
